Taking the Worry Out of Choosing a College Roommate

Are you headed to Athens for college in the Fall of 2017? Are you considering living off campus? Will you be sharing expenses with roommates? If so, you should be aware that while choosing a college roommate can certainly reduce living expenses, it can also cause problems.

The Mark is an off campus living community designed specifically for University of Georgia students. It is a luxury apartment community with unparalleled amenities like a resort style pool and Clubhouse with a state of the art fitness center, self-serve Starbucks coffee bar, game room and more. From day one The Mark was created with students in mind. We’ve even taken steps to help take the worry out of choosing a college roommate.

Choosing a College Roommate That Is Compatible

The Mark offers a roommate matching service that helps connect tenants with more compatible roommates. This helps assure harmony and establish common threads of interest. With one to five bedroom options, we’ll help you connect with the appropriate amount of roommates to not only share expenses, but share what you may have in common.

Having Enough Privacy

One of the issues of having roommates is having enough privacy in usually cramped living space. Our generous sized apartments have large common areas. Kitchens have upgraded countertops and stainless steel appliances.  Best of all, our apartments have a private bath for every bedroom. Each unit even has its own full-sized washer and dryer. The Mark offers a level of privacy that is hard to find elsewhere.

Individual Leases

One of the biggest issues with choosing a college roommate is finding someone who is responsible and will make their share of the rent payment on-time. You want a roommate who will not move out in the middle of the school year, sticking you with their share of the lease. The Mark solves this problem by offering individual leases to each resident. This makes tenants responsible for their own share of the lease. This absolves roommates of any financial burden should one fail to pay their share of the lease or even move out.

Spending Too Much Time with Each Other

One of the other challenges of choosing a college roommate is that these are people you will likely spend a lot of time with. At The Mark we help resolve this problem by offering a wide-array of activities right in your own backyard. The Mark has a large, resort-style pool for cooling off in the Georgia sun. Our Clubhouse has group study areas and a computer lab. It also has a fitness center, game room and coffee bar. It is a terrific place to study or just get away. We have an outdoor pavilion for cookouts, celebrations and tailgate parties. Our basketball court is a great way to burn off some extra energy. There’s always something to do at The Mark.
